3 June 2005

Unto Christopher Black Lion and all other members of the An Tir College of Heralds to whom these presents come or may concern, does David of Moffat, Lions Blood Herald, send these Greetings and information.

The June Lions Blood Meeting will be held 19 June 2005, beginning at 1:00 pm at my house, and will consider the submissions on the April 2005 Internal Letter. Directions to my house are as follows:

Take your favorite route to I-5. Travel I-5 to exit 104 (highway 101) in Olympia, Washington. Take exit 104, and get into the rightmost lane as quickly as possible. Take the first exit off of Highway 101, which is Cooper Point, Auto Mall, Evergreen Parkway, and Crosby Blvd. At the top of the exit ramp, get into the center lane turning left over the freeway. Turn left. Staying in this lane, go through three lights. You are now on Crosby Blvd. Stay on this road until you reach Crosby Court, past the dead end sign. Turn right into Crosby Ct, and turn left into the first driveway.

The date of the July 2005 Lions Blood meeting is being changed, to eliminate the overlap of the meeting date with July Coronation. The July Lions Blood meeting will be held 24 July 2005. Commentary on the May 2005 Internal Letter, which will be considered at the July Lions Blood Meeting is still due on 14 July 2005.

From Black Lion

Come to Symposium! June 25-26 in Seagirt, sponsored by the College of Saint Giles. Last year's symposium in Myrgan Wood was a lot of fun. We left there completely drained, utterly exhausted, and with huge smiles on our faces.

From the Former Black Lion:
Greetings Noble An Tir!

Yes, it's been about two years since I accepted the weighty responsibility of the checky tabard, and it is time for me to set it down. It has been a very interesting couple of years, and I've learned a lot and grown in many different areas. I would like to thank every one for the support and encouragement that I received during my tenure, it really made the job a joy.

Well, what is next for me? At Summits Heraldic Symposium, I discussed this with my successor and we decided that I would assume the title of Couronne Rouge Herald as part of Black Lion Staff. My duties will be to maintain, update, and keep the Roll of Arms for the Kingdom, and assume the duties of Incipient Branch liaison.

My many thanks for your support, patience and friendship over the last two years, I really do appreciate it. It certainly has been an interesting experience, and I wish Christopher Thomas well in his new role as Black Lion. I intend to stick around and continue working in the College of Heralds, so I'll see you around.

Frederic Badger
Couronne Rouge Herald, An Tir
Arms: Sable, a chalice within an orle argent

From the new Black Lion:

Hail An Tir!

It is with some trepidation I step into the tabard so ably filled by Frederic these past two years. I have been his Just-Add-Water deputy for most of that tenure so I have some idea of how challenging it can be. He managed it well and I can only hope I am even remotely as successful as he was. Thank you for handing me a College in such good shape.

Effective on the First of July, A.S. XL, there is a new Lions Blood Herald. Lions Blood is the Herald tasked with processing name and device submissions in An Tir. I am pleased to announce that Richenda du Jardin is now in that post. Her contact information should be in the Regnum listing soon. I would like to loudly thank Baron David of Moffat. He stepped in at a time when the office was in trouble and has done amazing work restoring it to good shape.

We have three openings in the college. The first and most immediate is for a new Boar Pursuivant. This office is a deputy to Lions Blood and handles much of the internal paperwork. If you have questions or wish to know more about the position please contact Richenda Lions Blood. Baron David has agreed to fill this position temporarily.

Morel Argent Scroll has done amazing things as Argent Scroll, including staying on an extra year. If you are interested in being the education deputy please let her and me know. It really is time to let her rest for a bit.

Quentin Dexter Gauntlet, keeper of the Kingdom Order of Precedence, will be stepping down in September. If you are interested in the position, or even think you might be interested, please contact him. His numerous contact addresses are listed in Regnum and on the Black Lion's Staff List at

I look forward to seeing all of you at An Tir Heraldic Symposium the 25th and 26th of June.

In Service to Crown, Kingdom, and College,
Lord Christopher Thomas
Black Lion Principal Herald, An Tir

From Lions Blood Herald

From David, outgoing Lions Blood Herald:

This is my last Lions Blood letter for my current tenure. I want to thank all the people who hav assisted me during my tenure. I could include a list of names, but that would generally merely occupy space and duplicate the lists of commenters in previous internal letters. However, I must thank Richenda du Jardin for her efforts in drafting the internal letter as Boar Pursuivant, Uilliam, for his efforts in getting the internal letter webbed each month, Gwenlian Sinister Gauntlet, for her efforts in scanning the the black and white line drawings each month, Elisabeth Pomegranate/not Laurel, Zenobia Black Stag and Juliana Siren for their efforts in reviewing draft letters of return and other ventings as I made decisions during the past six months. However, every member of the College of Heralds of An Tir who assisted in filling the vacuum left by my predecessor's untimely demise as Lions Blood is appreciated and thanked for their efforts. It is my earnest hope that every member who helped me will help Richenda as she steps forward and assumes the burden as Lions Blood on 1 July 2005. Good Luck, Richenda.

From Richenda, incoming Lions Blood Herald:

I am honored for the opportunity to have served An Tir as Boar. I truly appreciated the support from David Lions Blood, Juliana Siren and many others in the College as I learned not only a new job, but how a new CoH worked.

Richenda Boar
